Greetings in the Holy Name of Jesus,

Acts 4:20– “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”
We rejoice that our Lord has watched over us through many miles of traveling and taking God’s Word to where He led. We are pleased to tell you that the Lord was very present at the Malaga Camp Meeting in New Jersey during the August meetings. Precious brethren from Maryland and Pennsylvania came to pray for me while I was giving out the word the Lord laid on my heart. I believe it was Wednesday evening, during the first half of the message, that I was having great difficulty (or so it seemed) in preaching, but halfway through there was a breaking and people began to come to the altar at the end of the message. Praise The Lord! He is faithful! He promised that if He would be lifted up He would draw all men to Himself. God help us always to lift up Jesus. After the meeting, one of the brethren from Maryland named Steve came to me and asked if I sensed opposition or had a struggle preaching. I informed him that I felt like my head was filled with concrete, but then there was a breakthrough. He said that they (the ones praying for the meeting) could also sense that even though they were in a building over a hundred yards away and had no way of knowing what was going on. Satan tried to hinder the work and God was faithful to hear and speedily answer prayer. He is a prayer hearing and a prayer- answering God! I preached from Sunday evening to Friday evening and in the mornings, Monday through Friday.

When we were finished, we traveled home, had our Monday night fellowship, and then left for Indianapolis a few days later. The Lord opened up the doors to preach in three areas. The first was in the home of some dear friends whom we have known since Bible school days. The word was very well received and the door opened to share in the Salvation Army on Sunday morning, and to share at one of the local churches that evening. After that, Bev and I traveled to Texas to be with her mom and dad for two weeks and go to New Mexico with them. It was great to see them, and on our way home, we visited our son Jesse and his wife Heather in their new home in Fayetteville, NC. Both Jesse and his close friend, Alec, are working to have special meetings for the soldiers to come to where we would sing and give them the word of God.

While our group was at Malaga in August, we were able to see firsthand that there were many ‘physical’ needs there, as well as spiritual. It is a very old camp, and many buildings needed some TLC! We all agreed that we would love to go down again and serve by bringing a group to work on the grounds and buildings. A group of eleven of us worked for three days, Oct. 4-6. We have just received a note of thanks from the president, from which we quote: “The folks at Malaga Camp want to express our deep appreciation for the service you rendered for our Lord and Malaga Camp, when you came and provided volunteer work on our buildings and grounds. Because of your labor of love, we were able to see things accomplished that we could not have done, due to the cost of labor.” Praise the Lord! Some of the group even managed to play volleyball at night after a hard day’s work! We appreciate so much the folks who prepared the rooms for us and those who cooked great meals to keep us well fed.

We continue to actively work with the teens and young adults from the home church where we attend. We have our Monday night group that is growing, and one of the women goes up to the jail with Bev and me on Thursday to work with the prisoners. I continue to have the Friday Bible study with the men whenever I am not traveling. Bev and Sharon share in the women’s Bible study every first Wednesday of the month. This is one of the best ministries I have ever had. God is moving. We will be going back down to Maryland in November to meet with our home group down there. These brethren are such a blessing to us, and truly desire to walk the narrow path with Jesus. I feel so blest to be a part of God’s last day’s army and to be involved with those who are serious about their walk with the Savior. Some of you have written to us with your prayer requests and we want you to know that we consider it a privilege to help you in whatever way we can. If we can be of any service to you at all, no matter what it is, please don’t hesitate to call or write to us. We also have a web site where you can keep abreast of what is going on and hear or download a few of my later recordings. The web address is handtotheplow.org.

Prayer Requests

  1. Pray for those at the Malaga camp who were touched by the Lord to remain strong and faithful.
  2. The Monday night group is a challenge and a blessing as I’m teaching the book of Revelation. I am praying that the Lord will be faithful to teach us the blessed truths of this book and not worry about following the crowd with the modern hype.
  3. Lastly, we need your prayers for the men and women in jail that whether they are moved to another prison or released, they will be walking with the Savior in joy and victory. Isn’t it great how God chooses the foolish things to confound the wise? I hope you are one of them!
Blessings to you all and remember to keep up the good fight of faith.

Your Brother and Fellow Servant in Jesus,

Jim Anderton

P.S.
If you want to have recordings of the Malaga meetings just drop us a note and we’d be glad to get them out to you, or you can go on line to hear them.
