Dear Friends in Christ,

We rejoice at being able to report to you what God has done the past couple of weeks.

First, the work at Holliday, PA at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church was something to behold.  There were many with tears of repentance and turning back to the Lord.  Some who thought they knew the Lord as their Saviour realized their situation and came to the altar to get right with God.  The first night not one person came forward, and quite honestly, I couldn’t understand it because the Lord’s presence was very obvious.  The following night I didn’t give an altar call but it was plain to see by the look on the faces of many that the Lord was dealing with them.  We simply prayed and when we opened our eyes the altar was crowded with penitent souls.  GLORY TO GOD!  On the final evening, the Pastor came forward and simply said that the meeting was closed and that the people could go home, but that he felt a burden to pray.  Praise the Lord as about 30 others sensed the need for prayer and cried out to God until 11:00 PM.  Teen-agers in tears crying out to God for themselves and for their friends that they might come to Jesus for salvation.  Elders and others were praying for their church and their community that God would intervene.  These people are gathering for a special night of prayer, September 25th to seek out the Lord as to what should be done next.  May it be that the church you attend would begin to seek out God for what He wants to do.

The work at Ansonia surpassed anything we had seen before.  The Spirit of God did a wonderful work in the hearts of those present.  Every night we saw people come forward to give themselves to the Lord and repent from sin, culminating with the Sunday morning service where half the church stayed afterwards for counseling and prayer.

Right here I wish to state emphatically and categorically that it was the Lord who did it.  I was fearful of giving this report to you that man would give credit to man.  Therefore, I felt it necessary to make this statement.

You may rightly ask, “What made the difference between these meetings and those that preceded it.  The answer is that people were praying.  The pastors of these churches really want a revival and so when we prayed we could agree as touching that thing (Matthew 18:19).  Also, the Loux family is in total agreement with the need for revival and the belief that it is God and not man’s slick programs that will bring it.  Soon I will be writing about prayer so you can see from a Biblical perspective how and why this works.

Now Concerning prayer:

  1. Pray for Wellsboro, PA as we are trying to get a work started in this town.  There is one Pastor who is truly burdened about revival but now it is a matter of getting through the red tape.
  2. Pray for the Pastoral contacts and that God would give these men a vision and burden for revival.
  3. That the brochures would be read and blessed to the hearts of many.

Finally, we again thank many of you for your letters and support of this work.  As always, if we can ever be of any service to you, or if there is a prayer request that you have just write or call us.  God bless you.

Your servant for revival,

Jim Anderton
